The “government is always the answer” libiots are disingenuous or sadly ignorant in their urging for a government prop-up for the domestic auto manufacturers. Aren’t the same people who believe in these catastrophe postponing bail-outs the very same people that vow to cripple industry? Oh, that’s right, they don’t want to cripple industry, they want to save the world and the poor people…. by making more poor people.

How does one reconcile a supposed desire to save the critical manufacturing jobs on which so many Americans depend and a desire to take communion at the altar of the bloated Goreacle and his religion of socialism in the name of anthropogenic global warming? Serial heiress chaser, John Heinz-Kerry is in Poland pronouncing that the current occupant of the Elliptical Office and (tragically) future occupant of the Oval Office, “Big Brother” Barack Obama will indeed work to strangle American industry. Of course Gigolo John doesn’t present it in such a forthright manner. Reuters has an article, “Obama can sign U.N. climate pact before U.S. law: Kerry“:

POZNAN, Poland (Reuters) – The U.S. Senate will let President-elect Barack Obama sign up to a U.N. pact to fight global warming in late 2009 even if U.S. climate laws are not yet in place, U.S. Senator John Kerry predicted on Thursday.

But Kerry, designated head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said on the sidelines of U.N. climate talks in Poland that China, India and Russia would also have to promise to cut greenhouse gas emissions to win Senate blessing of any pact.

“It will be like the difference between night and day,” Kerry, of Massachusetts, said of Obama’s enthusiasm for action against climate change after what he said were eight years of inaction under President George W. Bush.

Surely you are thinking that the only way to increase the profitability (and therefore the viability) of an industry is to restrict it in every way imaginable. Of course if the government wants to be 100% certain of an industry’s ability to sustain itself, it must regulate on behalf of a fairy tale crisis such as anthropogenic global warming. This is how it works, right? Instead of leading by example on greenhouse gas emissions, which they could simply do by never again exhaling, the libiot government bloaters will stop at nothing to control the people and as many aspects of our lives as possible!

So we have the government growers crying wolf regarding what must be done to save the jobs of the (UAW) workers while promising to remove profitability of all industries. The positive side is that a minority of U.S. Representatives, such as my district’s own John Shimkus, said no to wasteful “bridge loan” and even though the atrocity passed Pelosi’s Playhouse, there was enough sense in the senate to stifle it. Now the bad news comes that President George Bush has decided to grant a stay of execution for the companies that are in such dire need of (future) taxpayer cash!

How will a bridge loan save these companies when they are not able to succeed? How will propping them up for a couple of months enable them to become viable, reorganize, slash costs, and become profitable enough to repay the loan given the cold hard fact that the libiots intend to make the struggle for survival even more difficult through increased regulation? Is this a bridge to somewhere? It is, but no one will care to hear the destination. The common response will be something along the lines of “this isn’t Venezuala” or “that can’t happen here!” You see, nothing that has happened elsewhere can happen here, much in the same way people often believe “it can’t happen to me!”

My recent post “Victory Automobiles?” becomes more of a possibility with every passing day and every passing government intrusion.

There are two discharge petitions currently in the U.S. House of Representatives of which the leadership would prefer you not hear. These petitions would force Bela Pelosi to allow two important bills to come to the floor for a vote. Discharge petitions require 218 signatures, so please go to the links provided to find out if your congressman has signed these important petitions.

The first petition is for The Broadcaster Freedom Act, HR 2095, which would permanently stop any attempts to reinstate the ridiculously named “Fairness Doctrine.” Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) has successfully gotten a one year ban on the free speech silencing doctrine. Unfortunately that temporary ban is about to expire. Click on the picture below to see who are the spineless libiot hypocrites that agreed to the one-year ban but refuse to sign the discharge petition to bring the permanent bill to the floor. The picture links to a site aptly called hypocrisycaucus.com.

The second, but obviously no less important discharge petition is for HR 3089, “The No More Excuses Energy Act of 2007.” My congressman, John Shimkus (R-IL) has signed this petition, has yours? Didn’t Pelosi and her fellow libiots make fuel prices a part of their 2006 campaign? Well they have certainly impacted the cost of fuel. I suppose the folks that supported the Democrat takeover sought higher prices. So if you think paying $4 a gallon is the right thing to do, you may want to disregard this petition. If you would like Congress to do its job instead of acting as an obstinate blockade to the achievement of the best interests of the citizens it supposedly represents, you may want to ask your congressman to do just that! You may want to call or e-mail his or her office and ask why he or she isn’t doing the right thing. You may want to inquire as to who he or she serves, you or Pelosi the libiot dominatrix.

“Power to the People” can be a reality. We can need to remember who pays the salaries and provides the perks for the elected representatives. Here’s a radical thought… how about we demand that our representatives represent us!
