I was fortunate to have received the great news from our illustrious Senator Dick (Durbin), having voted in his little poll on the “public option”. Here is the message from Senator Dick:

Dear sam,

We already knew that a majority of Americans support the inclusion of a public health insurance option in the final health care reform bill.

But now that the results of our online poll are in, something else is now clear: the American people who voted for change last November will settle for nothing less than a robust public option.

Over 80,000 people have responded to our poll, proving Americans know the difference between a strong public option and a weak one — and a weak one just won’t do.

Remembering Mary Jo’s Killer

Despite the already frothing campaign to socialize American medicine ought of some sense of debt to the late Senator Edward Kennedy, I choose to memorialize him in a different fashion. After all his real legacy was set on that night in 1969 when he drove off that bridge and left his victim to die. He never should have been allowed to further damage our nation as he has for the last 40 years since his legacy was cemented.

In memory of the killer of Mary Jo Kopekne, I re-post a piece I wrote on my original blog in June of 2007 when President Bush was joining Teddy and McAmnesty in the fight to legalize all those who are here illegally.

DNC and OFA Working to Make America FUBAR

Eli Saslow has a new man-crush. At least the latest object of his swooning isn’t shirtless, thus we are spared the ’sun glistening off chiseled pecs’ as he famously drooled over a wading Barack Obama. While Eli may be taking a break from crushing on “Big Brother” Barry, the new object of desire is at least a hack working on Big Brother’s behalf. You see, in order to win the affection of The Washington Obamost’s resident Barackophile, one needs to be dedicated to “change. Not just any “change” will do for Eli, the worthy “change” must have the end goal of a United States of America that rivals the former U.S.S.R. in communist glory.

Eli apparently likes a devil may care attitude and reckless disregard for the lives of others, as this is how he initiates his tribute:

RACINE, Wis. — The last three years had unfolded in an unrelenting series of what Jeremy Bird called Big Moments, and here began the latest on a sweltering afternoon earlier this month. Another rental car, another unfamiliar highway, another string of e-mails sent from his BlackBerry while driving 70 mph. Bird took a sip from his coffee and looked over at Dan Grandone, a co-worker riding in the passenger seat.

I suppose despite Jeremy Bird’s narcissistic disregard for the lives of innocent passersby as displayed by his “e-mails sent from his Blackberry while driving 70 mph”, at least he has the sense to take these risks before he and his comrades have realized their noble goal. For those who may not be aware, Bird’s goal is the implementation of socialized medicine, or (as the polling tells the DNC, OFA, and David Axlerod to re-frame it) “health insurance reform”. Eli likes a smart guy and Jeremy is smart enough to know that it is better to be involved in a car accident now than after the rationing starts.

The tyranny of the zero-liability voter has a champion in Jeremy Bird, political hack, as he works to the point of exhaustion to realize the un-American dream of wealth redistribution and healthcare rationing at the benevolent hands of one all-powerful central government.

A Light Look at Barbara Boxer’s Future

In these dark times for American citizens who cherish liberty, there are occasional bright spots. There are, here and there, signs that all may not be lost. One such sign is the re-election contest that involves The Honorable (in title only) Senator from California Barbara “Don’t call me ma’am” Boxer. The defeat of this lefty loon would indeed give hope to a nation that has fallen so far that Barack Obama was able to win the presidency. (Feel free to insert accusations of racism here based on my loathing of Barack Obama’s history, his spoken ideals, and his destructive goals.)

There may be a sympathetic contingent that wonders what will become of the well to do Mrs. “Ma’am” Boxer if she were to be knocked from her throne. Surely she would not suffer financially, but would she find a way to feel useful? Fear not, concerned citizen. “Ma’am” has a bright future in show business, should she choose that path. The roles would come naturally and the studios could even save money on make-up artists.

Study this picture and tell me she is not a perfect doppleganger…

President Obama to meet with Organizing For Astroturf

Meet with President Obama and the rest of OFA tomorrow and see how you can help spread the misery. The special interests that have aligned with the president have money to spend for their seats at the Death Panel table, so you might as well help them spend it. Who knows, you might even get paid for the noble work of convincing friends and neighbors how bad they never knew their lives really were!

Health Insurance Idiocy

The teetering position in which our nation has been placed by the cumulative effects of leftist education and leftist media (and their impact on the minds of the voters) seems to be near the point of overcoming inertia. If only there were insurance against tipping in the wrong direction. Of course if there were such insurance, it would eventually become the object of the Statist’s lust.

There is so much at stake right now, it is difficult to keep track of it all. This is surely intentional as the liberty quelling benevolence of the big government barracudas is proposed one plan on top of another in such a fashion that opponents (or those who revere the Constitution) are hard-pressed to catch every freedom stealing article. The magnitude of the dire situation is amplified by the witting as well as the witless allies of the government dominance.

An example of the insidious aiding and abetting of the Statist is the framing of the “death panel” concern as simply a matter of Medicare reimbursement for end of life counseling. The media outlets are attacking with such rabid fervor on behalf of “Big Brother” Barry’s outrageous agenda that the very real consequences of comparative effectiveness boards are at risk of being washed out of the public’s view in the spin deluge. How can it be anything but disingenuous (to quote one of Barry’s B.S. tells) “somehow” argue that life and death decisions will not be made by government bureaucrats when some form of comparative effectiveness board or panel is intended?

Flag 2.0: BarackObama.com Asks for Local Astroturfers

I am ashamed of our Dear Reader. I am starting to think he and his people are two-faced (not to be confused with the image of him as The Joker.) For all the spin against taxpayers who dare demand answers and dare demand that the government control its seemingly insatiable appetite, it is beginning to appear that the lib leadership is organizing against us! Gasp! I know it is hard to believe, but even I, who cherishes every word our president reads and views every elected official as beyond reproach simply because they are elected, am starting to waiver.

I could not believe when I opened my AOL e-mail and found a message from two days ago which asked me to sign up to “visit Rep. John Shimkus’s office in Centralia this week.” Wait, I thought that it was bad to organize movements! How can it be that our god-like leader of the once-free world can be asking this of me? Why would he do what seems so at odds with what his people are saying? I am so confused!

This Should Be Flagged!

I signed up for “Hope” and “Change” alerts from Organizing For America (aka: Agitating For Socialism), with dreams of a brave new Utopia. I thought I would be shown the path to collectivism and would be alerted to new and exciting plans to celebrate the zero-liability voter.

I certainly never expected to receive an e-mail that would require me to perform new-found civic duty of reporting it to “Big Brother”. I feel almost like one of The Spies from Orwell’s 1984, but I realize what must be done. “Big Brother” has demanded that “fishy” healthcare e-mails get sent to the Ministry of Truth at flag@whitehouse.gov, so I have no choice!

Will taxpayers be paying for the drugs next?

Rep (rehensible) David Obey (D – WI) saw his H.R. 3293 pass yesterday by a vote of 264 – 153. I must say that I was somewhat shocked, when perusing the roll call, to find the NRSC’s star “moderate” Mark Kirk in the list of “Nay” voters. I suppose Kirk felt Obey’s bill was safe and he could try to save a little face with the annoying conservatives in our wonderful state.

We, as taxpaying citizens have a duty to provide clean needles for intravenous drug abusers. It is our responsibility to perpetuate the habits of these drug users. Anyone can clearly see that the use of an illegal drug does not make the user a criminal, but a victim. It is the law-abiding citizen that is the criminal, or at least the vile oppressor in the age of Obama. As a matter of fact, those who oppose providing clean needles to the dregs of society are probably racists who to quote Dear Reader “acted stupidly” when they voiced opposition.

“Big Brother” Barry’s Ministry of Truth (The Washington Post) ignores the nasty notion that HIV and AIDS infections could be minimized by the most radical act of refraining from intravenous drug use. Instead, WaPo celebrates the wasting of taxpayer dollars to exacerbate the problem.

Death Sentence Courtesy of Obamorons

Does being an intellectual require a lack of respect for life? I only ask because 52.7 percent voters placed a man in the nation’s highest office who is a supposed intellectual and has outwardly campaigned on behalf of the culture of death. Is this what so-called Republicans who were enamored with the intellect of Obama (let’s call them “moderates”) expected? Are the FFT (Feckless Fifty Two percent) paying attention to the words of warning that are coming off TOTUS?

How can this push for death be spun by the sycophants? I’m sure we will be treated to a fabulous attempt to paint a smiley face on the alarming position of El Presidente, that is if the press is somehow forced to acknowledge the actual words read or perhaps memorized by “Big Brother” Barry.

Senior citizens find themselves squarely in the cross-hairs of the anti-gun Obama. He does not need a gun, however, as he has the bully pulpit and adoring throngs. AARP has joined the push to eliminate its membership, proving that it is as politically slimy as a labor union or ACORN. What is incredible is the fact that the man actually reads words that directly state his push for killing off seniors!
