I hope the subject doesn’t confuse my fellow Illinois citizens. I can see that the inclination might be to assume that the “Kirk” is perhaps former Governor Edgar’s Chief of Staff Kirk Dillard, who was by the way, former Chief of Staff for former Governor Edgar. Oh and he cut a campaign ad for a certain presidential candidate who went on to beat our hapless nominee in 2008. Of course we are not to take this campaign ad into account as we decide if Former Governor Edgar’s former Chief of Staff should be our nominee for our governor, since his endorsement was only during the primary and he … uh… went back to being a Republican I guess, immediately following the release of the ad. Anyway, the “mentor” is not Jim Edgar and the “Kirk” is not the star of an Obama campaign spot, turned Republican gubernatorial candidate.

Naturally, then, the “Kirk” is our favorite RINO, Rep. Mark Kirk and his “mentor” is none other than the bumbling candidate that landed us with Obama. The man who refuses to allow the party to move on and perhaps recover, has graciously expressed pride in our President’s latest “historic” achievement.

Dear President Obama,

I write this letter as a form of outreach to some of my fellow Illinois Republicans as well as to the mentally challenged members of your party. You see, I generally oppose the actions of liberals and “moderates”, but am being told that my values should not play such a key role in decisions of a political nature. This is an olive branch, if you will, to the supporters of Illinois RINO Mark Kirk and to what is perhaps the worst administration in American history.

I do not approach this communication lightly, as what I suggest does not serve my interests or those of my family. I am doing this as a contribution to the Mark Kirk for Senate campaign, so please give this letter due consideration as it is likely the only contribution Mark Kirk’s campaign will receive from me. What I suggest today may be a bold way for you, Mr. President (gosh that hurts to type, are you sure you don’t want to resign and perhaps be remembered as doing one thing that was good for your country?), to reach across the aisle and grasp a tangible, albeit artificial claim on being post-partisan.

The esteemed RINO being trumpeted as the only one who can beat the Democrat (the one that admits to being a Democrat) in next year’s race to fill the seat currently kept warm by Senator Roland “ACORN needs your money” Burris, Mark Kirk, strikes me as the sterotypical politician. The fact that he is the establishment choice (including that of the NRSC) to be the Republican nominee for the Senate seat rivals the news that Andy McKenna is running for Governor of Illinois as an indicator that that the Republican Party in Illinois is in the proverbial porcelain pond. Regardless of the spin of the faithfull party hackery, the effective slogan (adapted from Ric Flair’s trademark phrase) ‘to beat the Dems, you have to be the Dems’, poses a lose – lose situation for the principled constituency.

We, as citizens of Illinois (as well as citizens of The United States) indeed lose either way if RINO Mark Kirk takes February’s primary. The worst case scenario is that Alexi Giannoulias beats him in November 2010 and Illinois keeps up its tradition of electing the sleaziest of Democrats to the Senate. The alternate scenario (as there is no “best case” if the RINO Kirk makes November’s ballot) is that we send Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, John McCain, and fellow Senate RINOs a replacement for their dearly departed (across the aisle to where they and Kirk belong) “moderate” Dem-lite RINO colleague, Arlen Specter.

In these dark times for American citizens who cherish liberty, there are occasional bright spots. There are, here and there, signs that all may not be lost. One such sign is the re-election contest that involves The Honorable (in title only) Senator from California Barbara “Don’t call me ma’am” Boxer. The defeat of this lefty loon would indeed give hope to a nation that has fallen so far that Barack Obama was able to win the presidency. (Feel free to insert accusations of racism here based on my loathing of Barack Obama’s history, his spoken ideals, and his destructive goals.)

There may be a sympathetic contingent that wonders what will become of the well to do Mrs. “Ma’am” Boxer if she were to be knocked from her throne. Surely she would not suffer financially, but would she find a way to feel useful? Fear not, concerned citizen. “Ma’am” has a bright future in show business, should she choose that path. The roles would come naturally and the studios could even save money on make-up artists.

Study this picture and tell me she is not a perfect doppleganger…

With the electorate distracted by the sleazy sales pitch for socialized rationed healthcare (aka: reform), some important issues might be somewhat neglected. While “Big Brother” Barry continues his onslaught on liberty and does his best to read reassuring counterpoints to his actions, who is looking out for the child molester? Although President Obama has his mindless minions watching for “suspicious” reports on healthcare (those that offer facts or videos of various libtard pols stating their actual intentions), which can be conveniently e-mailed to “Big Brother” Barry’s telescreen monitors at flag@whitehouse.gov… who is carrying the global warming, er.. climate change water?

Now is the time for all good “moderates” or centrists” to sharpen their electoral teeth and bite off a piece of the action. I suggest that Rep. Mark Steven Kirk (RINO – IL -10), who the NRSC is pushing for the Senate consult with noted “centrist” sage Christie Todd Whitman. Mrs. Whitman can train young Mark in the ways of the “centrist”. Once the crash course in conservative crushing is completed, Kirk should author a bill with Mrs. Whitman’s input, of course, that solves the very difficult problems that face the liberal voters whom the RINO (or Neo-Statist h/t Mark Levin) court so ardently. The bill is crucial, but first things first. What can young grasshopper Kirk learn from the wise Whitman? WaPo’s Chris Cilliza, in his The Fix points to the message, “Christie Whitman’s Centrist Plea“.

At a time like this, when our society seems to be under attack on all fronts by internal enemies, almost no disgusting political behavior employed by Democrats comes as a surprise. It is, however, a little surprising that they are so emboldened by the acts of activist judges that they are so open about their behavior. I suppose the one positive aspect is the honesty (rare among those who seek to enslave the common man) displayed by being open about the intention to take advantage of the assault on natural marriage to gain political profit. Political profit apparently joins their own personal profit as the only types of profit that can be tolerated.

The Telegraph has a story from AP, “Dems: Opportunity as gay marriage acceptance grows.” In typical AP fashion, early in the article the writer insinuates that Iowa’s legalization of gay marriage indicates the openness of the Iowa electorate to this type of unnatural union… only to admit later in the article that this legalization is due to “high court rulings.” Yep, the people have ruled, providing “the people” are judges on power trips!

From the article:

With congressional elections next year, Republicans, Democrats and nonpartisan analysts say the changes benefit Democrats, whose bedrock liberals favor gay unions, and disadvantage Republicans, whose conservative base insists that marriage be solely between a man and a woman.

“This is not a sea change. This is a tide that is slowly rising in favor of gay marriage,” creating a favorable political situation for Democrats and ever-more difficulty for Republicans, said David McCuan, a political scientist at Sonoma State University in California.

Democrats have a broader base filled with more accepting younger voters, as well as flexibility on the issue. Hard-core liberals support gay marriage, while others, including President Barack Obama, take a more moderate position of civil unions and defer to states on gay marriage.

Conversely, the GOP base is older, smaller and more conservative. Republicans have no place to shift on the issue but to the left, because the party has been identified largely with its rock-solid opposition to gay marriage and civil unions. Also, the GOP has no titular head setting the tone on this or other issues.

It is clear, is it not, that Republicans must indeed become Democrats and support any initiative that opposes common sense, tradition, or nature in order to achieve electoral victory? Of course not, but apparently the unprincipled party (excuse me, they do have one principle, political victory at any cost) outwardly hopes to capitalize on this perceived societal desire to degrade further. The hope makes some sense as the looser the moral fabric of society becomes, the easier it is for statists (thank you, Mark Levin) to seize power. A depressing example of power seizure on the heels of societal degradation has been on display for about 103 days as the man who famously uttered “I am a wizard, Harry…” excuse me, “I have a gift, Harry” has been leading our nation into the great septic tank of total government domination.

Some powerful Republican strategists such as the idiot mastermind behind John McCain’s presidential loss believe that the party must shun morality in order to beat the Democrats by being the Democrats. If this occurs, don’t we still end up with Democrats?

The Hill has a report about noted RINO and liberal policy enabler, Sen. Arlen Specter (RINO – PA) and his campaign tactic… vote extortion. (Specter would fit in well in Illinois, where the forces of “moderation” are working to frighten voters into rejecting conservative candidates.) Ah, the genius “moderate” movement (reminds me of another kind of “movement”) that offered John McCain as the lesser of two liberals in the presidential election, is once again at work. The theory is that a conservative can’t win a statewide election and less of a lib is better than more of a lib.

TheHill.com – Specter: Toomey can’t win, is to right of Santorum:

During an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program, Specter (R-Pa.) provided a preview of his strategy against Toomey. Specter said Toomey fought for deregulation, embraced private accounts in Social Security and, if nominated, would lose the general election and allow Democrats to pass so-called card-check legislation favored by organized labor.

Specter said Toomey is “to the right” of former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), adding, “Santorum lost by 18 points [in 2006], spent $31 million and was a two-term incumbent.”

The jab at Santorum comes in the wake of Santorum’s silence on whether he will endorse Specter’s bid for a sixth term. Santorum backed Specter in his tight 2004 primary win over Toomey. President Bush also backed Specter over Toomey.

“If Toomey is the nominee, you can be sure he’ll lose,” Specter said, claiming Democrats would then have the votes to pass card-check and allow the White House and congressional Democrats to steamroll their agenda through Congress.

I know there are elements in the Republican Party that profess “you can’t govern if you don’t win” and obviously this sentiment is true. The entire picture is not represented in this slogan as there are side effects of developing an “anything to win” mindset. A Republican politician that adopts an Alinsky-ish “ends justify the means” approach might not have any credibility once in office. Of course if the idea is to gain favor with those that would otherwise vote Democrat, perhaps credibility doesn’t matter. What matters in this case is to find the delicate balance between flaming liberal and smoldering liberal and hope that smoldering liberal is what the voters seek.

There is a danger associated with the extortion attempts by these RINOs. If they succeed in convincing the primary voters that principled conservatives cannot defeat a Democrat opponent and if this happens with increasing frequency, we the people get stuck with… our current elected officials! The continual watering down of Republican candidates and the blurring of the line that might otherwise differentiate them from their Democrat opponents can only result in Democrat office holders (or office holders that might as well be Democrats.)

It is almost funny to see Specter trying to use the ‘Obama will get his way if I’m replaced by a Democrat vote in the Senate’ ploy since he and his despicable RINO sisters from Maine in many cases ensure just that! So do we cast conservative candidates out of primary contests in the hope that if the lesser lib wins, he or she will not support the liberal agenda more than 60% of the time?

Next thing you know people will be pushing Republicans to nominate a pro-choice, pro-gun control U.S. Representative to be a senator or governor. I’m not mentioning any names. I just hope we aren’t put in the all-too-familiar position in 2010 of being lectured on the value of supporting a Republican liberal because to refuse makes you an Obama supporter!

I don’t always agree with Newt Gingrich and assumed his “warning” of a third party in 2012 was aimed at admonishing conservatives to stick by the party come Hell or high RINOs. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised when I read Andy Barr’s report on Politico, “Gingrich: GOP-ers may form third party.”

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is warning fellow Republicans that conservatives may leave the GOP for a third party in 2012.

“If the Republicans can’t break out of being the right wing party of big government, then I think you would see a third party movement in 2012,” Gingrich said Wednesday during a speech at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri, the local television station KY3 reported.

Gingrich thrashed Republicans for allowing increased spending during the Bush administration and for not doing enough to block President Barack Obama’s early initiatives.

It is encouraging to read such a report. Too often people of principle are lectured that, like many of the corporations that received undeserved bailouts, the Republican Party is “too big to fail!” Of course, those words were not used to convince conservatives to vote for whatever RINO was offered simply because he or she had an “R” attached to his or her name, but the sentiment was the same.

It also provides an oasis in the sandstorm whipped desert of limp “reformers” and their calls to become the Democrat Party Jr. (Note: these calls only increased in spite of the fact that the ideal candidate of these “reformer” RINO weenies was nominated by Democrats, “Independents”, and Huckabee in last year’s presidential debacle!)

Now for the $9.3 trillion question: Will the big spending RINO Obama enablers heed the warning? I have serious doubts as the appeal of power seems to trump principle for a majority of politicians. It may also appear that the path of least resistance is on Obama’s coat tails. I wonder if the Republican powers that be know what happens to a snowball as it rolls down a snowy hillside? The only certainty is that if Republican losses continue or increase thanks to the abandoning of limited government and reponsibility, the Repubs will blame conservatives and damn their pesky principles.

Last year, we were lashed with the Republican whip of “you can’t vote against McCain or you are supporting Obama… (so there, we’ve got you right where we want you, you annoying conservatives!)” Perhaps Speaker Gingrich’s words will wake the party leadership up to the reality of the anger that is growing among the electorate. Here’s hoping that our votes are not once again extorted on behalf of the lesser of two liberals.

Barack “Born Alive, Let Them Die” Obama continues to impress those that are witnessing his every historic movement, appointment, oration, and “ya know.” That is, of course, with the small exception of folks that treasure liberty, responsibility, or innocent babies. The FFT (feckless fifty two percent) will likely take a moment’s break from waiting for Obama’s $400 million to study global warming as a means of stimulating the economy to applaud his choice (if the sick speculation pans out) of Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to fill the role of HHS secretary.

Governor Sebelius would be perfect … if the post were the Secretary of Health and Inhuman Services. Of course the word “health” would be used in the manner that baby killing advocates use the phrase “women’s health.” (Obama might just as well ask tax cheat Tim Geithner to study issuing this year’s income tax over-payment refunds in Planned Parenthood Gift certificates.) Whether it be honoring notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller or vetoing legislation that restricts late-term abortions Governor Sebelius has shown her substance as a powerful friend of infanticide.

Our next HHS Secretary could be friend to those who like “Dr.” Tiller engage in activities such as the following, which was uncovered by an Operation Rescue undercover investigation:

A pregnant Operation Rescue volunteer named Shaye offered to participate in the undercover investigation of WHCS in October, 2008.

In a sworn statement Shaye said that a WHCS employee conducted her sonogram and determined that her baby was 24 weeks, 6 days gestation, past the threshold of viability. The Tiller employee then tore off those ultrasound photos and threw them into the trash. She took new measurements, then told Shaye her baby was only 23 weeks gestation.

Shaye easily obtained an appointment for an abortion without having to see the second physician required by law for post-viability abortions.

In order to confirm the actual fetal age of Shaye’s baby, she received two more sonograms on that same day, both of which indicated the baby was beyond 24 weeks gestation. Shaye’s baby was undeniably past the threshold of viability.

Shaye had made WHCS aware that both she and her baby were healthy and that the pregnancy was without complications. Shaye did not receive the abortion only because she did not show up for the abortion appointment.

At least Obama’s base would be represented by this pick. After all, what could possibly take precedence over keeping NARAL and Emily’s List on board for the next election cycle? These two death advocacy organizations oppose any legislation that might jeopardize a constitutional right to privacy. Isn’t that noble sounding? That was Governor Sebelius’ stated concern when she vetoed a bill that would have imposed restrictions on late term abortions. From April 22, 2008 in The Joplin Globe:

TOPEKA, Kan. — Gov. Kathleen Sebelius vetoed a bill Monday that would have imposed new restrictions on abortion providers and allowed lawsuits to block late-term procedures, arguing it could deny women lifesaving medical care.

But abortion opponents scoffed at her arguments and said Sebelius’ action shows that she holds radical views. Some supporters of the bill predicted an attempt to override Sebelius’ veto when the Legislature returns April 30 from its annual spring break.

The measure was partly a response to allegations that Dr. George Tiller has performed illegal late-term abortions at his Wichita clinic. Tiller, among the few U.S. physicians who perform such procedures, has said he follows state law.

Sebelius, an abortion-rights supporter, objected most strongly to provisions allowing a patient’s spouse or family members to go to court if they believed a doctor had performed or was about to perform an illegal late-term abortion. The patient herself also could sue, but so could a local prosecutor.

The governor said in her veto message that such a lawsuit could be filed to block a patient’s abortion “even where it may be necessary to save her life.” She said the bill would encourage litigation and jeopardize patients’ privacy.

I have yet to hear of an instance in which killing a baby is necessary to save the life of a mother. As a father, I cannot imagine that if one of my children were killed, it could be dismissed as none of my business based on the privacy rights of the person that requested the killing. Also as a father, I cannot fathom a governor or any other libiot scum politician enabling butchers like Tiller and statutory rapists secretly (parental notification) practice their respective vile activities on children in the name of privacy.

Do not fret squishy moderates, The Washington Obamost claims “Obama Plan Aims to Appease Both Sides of Abortion Issue“, so this little “wedge-issue” will probably just go away. Barack The Uniter will utilize his legendary political artistry to acheive the perfect balance between federal funding for programs to curb teen pregnancy and federal funding for abortion mills here and abroad. I suppose I shouldn’t focus on the barbaric evil that is exercised on children in the womb and just be thankful we have a leader that is willing to apply taxpayer dollars to both sides. Planned Parenthood, Dr. Tiller, The Hope Clinic in Granite City, IL and abortion mills everywhere surely find this type of spreading the wealth to be change they can believe in.
