Dear President Obama,

I write this letter as a form of outreach to some of my fellow Illinois Republicans as well as to the mentally challenged members of your party. You see, I generally oppose the actions of liberals and “moderates”, but am being told that my values should not play such a key role in decisions of a political nature. This is an olive branch, if you will, to the supporters of Illinois RINO Mark Kirk and to what is perhaps the worst administration in American history.

I do not approach this communication lightly, as what I suggest does not serve my interests or those of my family. I am doing this as a contribution to the Mark Kirk for Senate campaign, so please give this letter due consideration as it is likely the only contribution Mark Kirk’s campaign will receive from me. What I suggest today may be a bold way for you, Mr. President (gosh that hurts to type, are you sure you don’t want to resign and perhaps be remembered as doing one thing that was good for your country?), to reach across the aisle and grasp a tangible, albeit artificial claim on being post-partisan.

The esteemed RINO being trumpeted as the only one who can beat the Democrat (the one that admits to being a Democrat) in next year’s race to fill the seat currently kept warm by Senator Roland “ACORN needs your money” Burris, Mark Kirk, strikes me as the sterotypical politician. The fact that he is the establishment choice (including that of the NRSC) to be the Republican nominee for the Senate seat rivals the news that Andy McKenna is running for Governor of Illinois as an indicator that that the Republican Party in Illinois is in the proverbial porcelain pond. Regardless of the spin of the faithfull party hackery, the effective slogan (adapted from Ric Flair’s trademark phrase) ‘to beat the Dems, you have to be the Dems’, poses a lose – lose situation for the principled constituency.

We, as citizens of Illinois (as well as citizens of The United States) indeed lose either way if RINO Mark Kirk takes February’s primary. The worst case scenario is that Alexi Giannoulias beats him in November 2010 and Illinois keeps up its tradition of electing the sleaziest of Democrats to the Senate. The alternate scenario (as there is no “best case” if the RINO Kirk makes November’s ballot) is that we send Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, John McCain, and fellow Senate RINOs a replacement for their dearly departed (across the aisle to where they and Kirk belong) “moderate” Dem-lite RINO colleague, Arlen Specter.

These are the people who served their country. These are the people who work hard to care for their families. These are the people who care about their communities and their faiths. These are the people who Barack Obama would call “bitter” clinging to guns and the Bible. These are real people and real Americans. These are people who are sick and tired of irresponsible government spending and intrusive government policies. These are the people who believe in government “by the people” and “for the people” instead of the Washington D.C. and Springfield, IL ideas regarding government domination of the people.

We gathered on a perfect Saturday afternoon to honor our veterans, past and present. We came together to remember the attacks (which Obama would have us forget) that occurred against innocent Americans on September 11, 2001. We talked of Cap and Trade, Healthcare reform, spending, trade, and the over-reaching irresponsibility of our state and federal governing bodies. We spoke of a document President Obama views as “flawed”, the Constitution.

Opponents of redistributive “Change” and the subjugation of the productive have been given a lesson in “smearing” liberal political figures. In what seems an odd twist, it was the lib political figures and their rabid propaganda outlets that provided the lesson. It would also appear that the task of “smearing” a modern liberal (Statist cretin) is relatively a simple one given the technology that exists to record and preserve his or her comments and actions. Of course, it is reasonable to expect “Big Brother” Barry to work on the accessibility of information to the general public as his idea of transparency is to tightly control the bits of information that are allowed to be scrutinized.

There is also a lack of consistency among the arms of the Obama Ministry of Truth as they provide this lesson in “smearing”. It is almost as if the shock of having to respond to recognition of the character of an Obama advisor has created confusion within the ministry, itself. Playing a role similar to that of Jiminy Crickett in those old safety films (”I’m no fool, no siree! I’m gonna live to a 103!”) in this particular lesson is Van Jones. The facilitators of the training can’t come to a consensus on the source of the problem with Mr. Jones, but they do show us how to properly execute a “smear campaign”.

With the electorate distracted by the sleazy sales pitch for socialized rationed healthcare (aka: reform), some important issues might be somewhat neglected. While “Big Brother” Barry continues his onslaught on liberty and does his best to read reassuring counterpoints to his actions, who is looking out for the child molester? Although President Obama has his mindless minions watching for “suspicious” reports on healthcare (those that offer facts or videos of various libtard pols stating their actual intentions), which can be conveniently e-mailed to “Big Brother” Barry’s telescreen monitors at flag@whitehouse.gov… who is carrying the global warming, er.. climate change water?

Now is the time for all good “moderates” or centrists” to sharpen their electoral teeth and bite off a piece of the action. I suggest that Rep. Mark Steven Kirk (RINO – IL -10), who the NRSC is pushing for the Senate consult with noted “centrist” sage Christie Todd Whitman. Mrs. Whitman can train young Mark in the ways of the “centrist”. Once the crash course in conservative crushing is completed, Kirk should author a bill with Mrs. Whitman’s input, of course, that solves the very difficult problems that face the liberal voters whom the RINO (or Neo-Statist h/t Mark Levin) court so ardently. The bill is crucial, but first things first. What can young grasshopper Kirk learn from the wise Whitman? WaPo’s Chris Cilliza, in his The Fix points to the message, “Christie Whitman’s Centrist Plea“.

It has been revealed that Rep. Mark Kirk (IL-10) will be officially announcing his candidacy for U.S. Senate Monday. Observers will surely note that Congressman Kirk has finally decided that the competition he feared is definitely going to sit this election cycle out, so it is time to take the bold plunge.

Kirk is going to be the Republican front-runner and will likely receive support from the NRSC, assuming they believe less liberal will beat more liberal in the fall of 2010. Supporting Mark Kirk for Senate is apparently the “pragmatic” thing to do, at least according to CQ Politics’ Bob Benenson (and some who comment on Illinois Review.)

Politics is nasty, which is unfortunate because the politicians have so much power to harm so many. I do not know if the environment (no you Enviro-Statists, I am not talking about that environment) has always been this way, but it is clear that the defined duties of various elected positions are not very high on the priority list used to evaluate candidates. It is also clear that the taste of power is intoxicating and in the wrong hands (those of most politicians) can be dangerous.

They cannot get enough! There is nothing they won’t do to grow their power, tighten their grips on the lives of the electorate, and feed their massive egos! Private citizens are pawns to be used and if necessary, destroyed for political gain. Political vermin from both parties, but primarily the one represented by the oh so appropriate jackass, view themselves above all and urinate on the little people.

The grip tightens as their benevolent programs, vote purchasing wealth redistribution, and “for the good of (fill in the blank)” regulations shift reliance from the individual to the government. The bastards (male or female) seize control in a fashion that was once creeping but in the age of Obama, is more like a runaway freight train.

Gigolo John and Babbs (call me senator, not ma’am) Boxer have job killing business to which they must attend when their commitees get their hands on the already bad bill. “Big Brother” Barry doesn’t want countries like China to have to compete with American companies on a level playing field so John and Babbs are “reporting for duty!” From CQPolitics, “Senate Finance Likely to Alter Tariff in Climate Change Bill“:

In an article regarding congressmen who might be on the fence as to how to vote on the dangerous and stupid Cap and Trade Away Prosperity Act of 2009 or HR 2454, Lisa Lerer puts Mark Kirk in the following class:

The schemers: Reps. Charlie Melancon and Mark Kirk

Both Melancon and Kirk are eyeing statewide office, and their political ambitions are certainly influencing their votes on the bill. Melancon has all but officially declared his challenge to Republican Sen. David Vitter (R-La.). And in Illinois, Republicans are pressuring Kirk to run for Obama’s old Senate seat in 2010.

Melancon voted against the bill, which is close to a nonstarter in oil-rich Louisiana, when it was before the House Energy and Commerce Committee. With the GOP already ready running radio ads against him, he’s expected to oppose the bill again this week.

Kirk remains on the fence, saying he has concerns about the lack of funding for nuclear energy and coal interests in his state.

“We don’t want to de-industrialize Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin,” Kirk said after a meeting with Pelosi and Reps. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) and Ed Markey (D-Mass.), the sponsors of the legislation.

Opposing the bill could hurt him, however, in Chicago and other more liberal corners of the state. So voting for the bill, note political observers, could indicate some serious senatorial ambitious.

Be warned! While ACORN Broadcasting Company prepares to do a prime time hard sell of Obamacare and while American citizens seem to be inundated with government action after government action, Nancy “I left my brain in San Francisco” Pelosi is going to schedule a vote on HR 2454. This threat is titled the “American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009″ in typical Dem misrepresentation-in-bill-naming fashion. The title has a positive ring to it, so as long as no one notices and no one thinks, the Dems can have their way. While American citizens are concerned about what Barack Obama is going to roll out next, what his administration will nationalize next, or what will be rationed next, the Enviro-statist prepares his assault on the nation.

Mark Levin, on pages 121-122 of Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, describes the mentality of the Enviro-statist:

If nature has “intrinsic value” then nature exists for its own sake. Consequently, man is not to be preferred over any aspect of his natural surroundings. He is no better than any other organism and much worse than most because of his destructive existence. And so it is that the Enviro-statist abandons reason for a faith that preaches human regression and self-loathing. And he does so by claiming the moral high ground – saving man from himself and nature from man. Most individuals who are sympathetic to environmental causes are unwitting marks, responsive to the Enviro-statist’s manipulation of science, imagery, and language. Over time, they self-surrender liberty for authority, abundance for scarcity, and optimism for pessimism. “Save the planet!” is the rallying cry that justifies nearly any intrusion by government into the life of the individual. The individual, after all, is expendable.
