Given the treatment Alaska has received at the hands of your candidate’s campaign staff in the media, who can blame some Alaskans for having desired to secede? According to your side, being the governor of Alaska does not indicate experience like being a “community organizer” does. The notion of wanting to preserve liberty is not a bad one. If the U.S. government becomes what it threatens to become, which is the type of government someone like Ayers would endorse, a desire to secede would be understandable.

Palin’s husband Todd was a member of the AIP (Alaska Independence Party) from October 1995 through July 2002, except for a few months in 2000. He is currently undeclared.

AIP’s charter commits the party “to the ultimate independence of Alaska,” from the United States which it refers to as “the colonial bureaucracy in Washington.” It proclaims Alaska’s 1959 induction as a state “as illegal and in violation of the United Nations charter and international law.”

The “liberal press” has did little to report on this connection or what the founder of the party she did the keynote speech for in 2006 is, what their charter is and what their founder espoused.

During all the talk about Obama and Rashid Khalidi and his University colleague’s going away party, no one has mentioned John McCain’s role in giving the organization the one and the sameRashid Khalidi’s runs several hundred thousand dollars to survey the Palestinians about their feelings.
