This post is a collection of annoyances I have thought about recently. It may take more than two minutes to air out, but we might as well start practicing before “Big Brother” Barry has the tele-screens installed. The idea that George Orwell’s vision of society in “1984″ can come to be realized in the U.S. is still far-fetched, but as Barack “Born Alive, Let Them Die” Obama gets closer to the presidency, the notion seems less far-fetched. If there are indeed enough American voters that would vote for Obama, let alone vocally support this leftist, then it would appear that our nation is ripe for oppressive governmental control. Therefore, in honor of the future “leader” of this nation, “Big Brother” Barack Obama, here is my “Two Minutes Hate”:

Minute One:

I hope Mike Huckabee enjoys the profits he earns as a commentator and host on Foxnews. It is unfortunate that his position with the cable news channel would not be possible without his devastating run for the Republican nomination. How, one might ask, was Huckabee’s run devastating? His hatred of Mitt Romney and his nanny state ideals provided a path to the worst case scenario for a Republican Party that desperately needed someone behind who they could rally. The scenario was realized when, through the process of elimination, faux independent voters in open primaries, and Huckabee’s desire to stick it to Mitt Romney, The Republican Party got stuck with John McCain as a nominee. As I said before, Huckabee believed in the nanny state and therefore was disqualified from the support of many conservatives. Romney was an acceptable alternative to many conservatives when it became apparent that their first or second choice would not make the cut. McCain was a nightmare from which I still hope to wake.

There are times when McCain seems worthy of support. His naming of Governor Palin as his running mate, for example, gave conservatives hope. The problem is that McCain refuses to win. I don’t know if he is just so stubborn that he can’t take advice… or perhaps he has surrounded himself with moron RINOs that aren’t capable of giving good advice. Sometimes I even think McCain’s disdain for conservatives runs so high, he doesn’t care whether he wins or loses. If he wins, he has the office he felt he deserved. If he loses, he sticks the conservatives with the most ridiculously leftist president this side of Venezuala. This is probably not the case, but when I see how McCain campaigns, I can’t help but wonder.

Minute Two:

I was just watching a little of FOXNews Sunday and heard Chris Wallace interviewing Brooks Jackson, Director of Factcheck.org. Jackson mentioned that factcheck was part of The Annenberg Public Policy Foundation at The University of Pennsylvania. I don’t know how I had missed hearing about this connection in the past… I had heard that factcheck.org seemed to lean left, but didn’t know of the connection to Annenberg. I think any fact checking done regarding this election should be viewed through an “Annenberg” filter since the Annenberg Foundation is at the heart of the Obama-Ayers controversy.

There should be no surprise that Factcheck.org poo-pooed the controversy in its treatment of Dr. Jerome Corsi’s book “An Obamantion.” How about a little truth in advertising, doesn’t Factleft.org sound better?

There are some things I like about Huckabee, but he was never presidential material.

This whole time I’ve been thinking Factcheck.org was one of the few UNbiased sites, and evidently was duped. I just HATE that. Is there any media left that isn’t in the tank for Bubba Hussein?

I so agree with you. I was (an still am) a Romney supporter. He is honorable and decent and sadly, Huckabee’s hatered for Romeney’s religion and business success was influential. I am saddened by our current choice. We will surely have an Obama Nation, and with Reid and Pelosi, the silver lining I seek just cannot be found. I refuse to vote for ANYONE who is currently in Washington. I do like Palin – but she’s attached to someone who has already sold us down the river.

    Kate,

I liked some things about Huckabee, especially at first. I still appreciate his stance on social issues, but he would never get my vote for a damn thing following this past primary (and what I have learned about him.)

I would guess that there is a small percentage of media that isn’t pushing us over the cliff into Obammunism… only who knows where that small percentage is located?

    Cindi,

A previous commenter (on another post) had a good idea, “Palin-Jindal 2012!”

Might be all we can hope for and work toward at this point.

I broke down in tears in the first 5 minutes of the first debate because it looked to me like McCain was throwing the fight. This time around I am thinking he’s either clueless or doesn’t want to use the Saul Alinski tactic that works for the left all the time; boil your point into a soundbyte and repeat it ad naseum. Case in point from 1992 “It’s the economy stupid”. People believed it even as we were set to boom.

McCain said some things which needed to be said, but only once and then went on. He needs to repeat them and keep bringing every related question back to those talking points. The public-educated citizenry learns by soundbyte- they can no longer be left to reason things out by one-off statements of truth.

Good 1984 analogy. You’re absolutely right–socialism in its worst shape is coming to America if Obama gets elected.

And the worst part is that many people who will end up voting for Obama, wouldn’t know what they are really voting for. They don’t go to the blogs like yours, they don’t read long data-rich threads, they don’t watch scary YouTube kids-singing videos. We keep going down in polls because people listen to the huge propaganda machine–and take that BS at face value. What we need is an arsenal of conversation changers. These attention grabbers that make an impact in 5 sec. And THEN those whose opinions still can be changed may start reading more. Obama’s side if excellent in this. They have pros working around the clock on all sorts of visuals that go straight to the emotions level, bypassing the logic. Just take a look at this site to know what I’m talking about.

Can you name a single memorable anti-Obama poster that speaks to the center-leaning Democratic voter? I can’t. And to expose who Obama really is we need some of that. With my new blog and Facebook page I’ve started a new repository to fill this gap and hope it will take off and will be used and extended by others. Your comments and suggestions are more than welcome.
