I am hard on John McCain because I have very little confidence in the man who would have considered being John Kerry’s running mate and has fought hard over the years to hamper liberty and harm our sovereignty. Today I will give the man who would be president some credit. Senator McCain has, to this point not supported a measure to nationalize reinsurance for catastrophic storm damage. This bill which passed the House and is now in committee in the Senate is named to sell, the “Homeowner Defense Act of 2007” (H.R. 3355, S. 2310.)

WASHINGTON — As hurricane season begins, Democrats in Congress want to nationalize a chunk of the insurance business that covers major storm-damage claims.

The proposal — backed by giant insurers Allstate Corp. and State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., as well as Florida lawmakers — focuses on “reinsurance,” the policies bought by insurers themselves to protect against catastrophic losses. The proposal envisions a taxpayer-financed reinsurance program covering all 50 states, which would essentially backstop the giant insurers in case of disaster.

The program could save homeowners roughly $500 apiece in annual premiums in Florida, according to an advocacy group backed by Allstate and State Farm, the largest writers of property insurance in the U.S.

Please don’t think the Dems, the major insurers, and Florida Governor “Crispy” Crist want the United States taxpayer to open their wallets without limits. On the contrary, the libiots in the House are looking out for us in Title III, Sec. 304:

(Sec. 304) Sets the maximum aggregate potential federal liability for payment of claims under all reinsurance contracts sold in any single year at $200 billion, or such lesser amount as the Secretary determines based on review of the reinsurance market.

The article indicated that the blatant Socialist presidential candidates, Barry Obama and the wife of The Rapist, support this plan. One is left to wonder if they realize that there is a limit to taxpayer liability for the decisions of others. Perhaps Barry and Hill will take what redistribution they can get, even if it isn’t entirely up to their desire for complete nationalization of property (and all other forms of) insurance. Nikita Kruschev would certainly approve of this piecemeal approach.

Hat tip to Andrew Wilkow, host of The Wilkow Majority on Sirius Patriot 144 for pointing out what sort of Pandora’s Box the governor of New York may be opening with his directive on recognizing the same-sex marriages licensed in other jurisdictions. For those that may not be aware of Gov. Patterson’s declaration (undoubtedly made between revelations of yet more extramarital affairs,) today’s Washington Post gleefully shares the news. Robin Shulman writes in “N.Y. to Recognize Other Jurisdictions’ Gay Marriages“:

NEW YORK — Same-sex marriages legally performed elsewhere will be recognized in New York state, according to the office of Gov. David A. Paterson.

In response to a February state court ruling, the governor’s office has directed all state agencies to revise their regulations and policies to ensure respect for same-sex marriages from states and countries where they are legal.

In a videotaped message to gay community leaders at a recent dinner, Paterson (D) called the directive a “strong step toward marriage equality.”

And:

Advocates said hundreds, perhaps thousands, of gay New Yorkers have already traveled to Canada to marry even though that conferred no guaranteed rights at home.

“Now we know those couples will receive 1,324 rights that come with a New York state marriage license,” said Alan Van Capelle, the executive director of Empire State Pride Agenda, a gay advocacy group. Those rights cover such things as inheritance and adoption rules and shared health-care plans. “This is a big deal for New Yorkers who are desperately hungry to be able to protect the people that they love,” he added.

Now for the part about how this directive will make visitors and even citizens of New York safer. New York residents may be allowed a concealed carry permit if the proper authorities deem them to have sufficient need (on an individual basis.) Restrictions on concealed carry in New York certainly would limit the number of law-abiding citizens around the state who are prepared to defend themselves and others if someone less than law-abiding started firing a gun or perhaps assaulting a woman. If a person has a concealed carry permit from another state and he or she happens to be in New York, the governor’s directive surely means that he or she is permitted to carry the firearm within the borders of New York. Otherwise one might think that the libiot governor of New York is simply furthering the homosexual agenda and moving his state closer to gay marriages with this directive. Lets give Governor Patterson the benefit of the doubt here, since he likely just wants “fair” treatment of people and their “rights” as determined by other jurisdictions.

So citizens of New York should be more comfortable when they are out in public in the future. They should be grateful that if someone enters the post office or bank and starts firing a gun at innocent bystanders, they will stand a better chance of being protected. Even if there is no police presence or no New Yorker with a concealed carry permit, Gov. Patterson is setting the stage for a tourist to exercise his or her right to bear arms and possibly save the lives of who knows how many innocent people. Who would of thought that the libiot governor of New York would take such a common sense and safety conscious step?

I wonder if there is any oil under New York or off its shore? Certainly since some jurisdictions allow drilling, New York will recognize the rights to drill for oil as long as the company doing the drilling is based in or relocated from a jurisdiction where it is allowed. Perhaps more states should recognize the gay marriages of other states, think about the potential reduction in the price of gasoline if we could use our own oil!

How is the hunting and fishing in New York? More people than ever before should be able to find out now since this declaration has been made. People may have hunting and fishing licenses in other states but not in New York and now they needn’t worry about obtaining one in New York to enjoy these outdoor sporting activities. Who knew the libiot governor of New York was such a friend to sportsmen?

Hey wait a minute! Is this directive just a way to get around the drivers licenses for illegals issue? I know it was this libiot governor’s brothel customer, I mean predecessor who wanted to give licenses to illegals, but this may be a way to allow it to happen. As long as an illegal has a driver’s license from his home country, logic dictates that it would be recognized in New York. If this is the case I bet McCain will support this measure.

I wonder if polygamists in other nations will consider moving to New York now that their marriages will be recognized?

U.S. Representative Edward Markey (D-Mass.) is the chairman of the House global warming panel. This fact alone indicates that the man is of questionable character and/or intelligence. The fact that the House throws taxpayer dollars away by having such boondoggles as the global warming panel should be enough to make any reasonable citizen a little warmer (the result of rage.)

The Hill has a frightening article, “Markey to release aggressive global warming bill,” which gives me the impression that (D-Mass.) might not be short for “Democrat-Massachusetts”, after all. Instead, it may be be shorthand for “DuMb-aSS!”

From The Hill:

Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass.), chairman of the House global warming panel, will introduce a bill next week that would cut emissions 85 percent below 2005 levels by 2050, more than the leading Senate bill to be debated on the floor next week.

Markey said the measure would generate $8 trillion through the auctioning of emissions allowances to polluters.

That money would be spent on developing new technologies like carbon capture and storage, retraining workers in green-collar jobs and helping consumers reduce their energy costs.

And:

Markey’s bill would not give polluters free emission allowances, but instead immediately put a price on emissions in an auction. That would likely raise the cost of compliance earlier than the Senate measure and therefore is likely to be opposed by the business community.

Markey said auctioning the allowances rather than handing them out for free would force industries to invest in energy-efficiency technologies that would allow them to reach emission targets in the near term.

“The business community that has been polluting has to accept the responsibility that this is a price that has been paid for by the society as a whole,” Markey said.

There are two possibilities to explain Rep. Markey’s bill (the same two possibilities would seem likely for most libiot proposals.) Rep. Markey may indeed be so stupid that he believes that his bill will help the electorate that he supposedly represents or may even be the right thing to do as far as carrying out the duties of his office. If this is the case, perhaps the people of Massachusetts should ask for IQ test scores before deciding how to vote on future candidates. (We would probably ask for them in Illinois if we didn’t believe that the Chicago Corruption Machine would get by with whatever it pleases.)

Does Rep. Markey know who would ultimately pay the $8 trillion? Maybe even the citizens of Taxachusetts might see prices of their gasoline and their manufactured items increase dramatically. This windfall for the ever-inflating government would be used to develop new technologies… by who? Will the efficiency of the Post Office or the IRS be applied to these developments? Does Rep. Markey have a view of reality that is so twisted that he honestly believes that punitive charges for production will not adversely affect the citizens that buy the products and have retirement plans invested in these businesses?

The second, and more likely possibility is also the more disappointing. Libiots such as Rep. Markey likely realize the the severe negative impact their proposals will have on this nation and its citizens. In fact, libiots such as Rep. Markey are likely counting on this negative impact! Libiots need dependents and bills such as this one provide them. The more expensive gasoline and manufactured goods become, the more people will seek government assistance and demand government action. The libiots in government can play the role of protector and champion of the common man while pointing the finger of accusation at the villainous and evil scourge known as business.

Political pythons such as Rep. Markey are far too common in our government. The problem can only worsen unless the electorate pays attention to the actions and motivations of those we elect.

We are witnessing a political phenomenon with Barack Hussein Obama of rare magnitude. His speeches have inspired millions and yet most of his followers have no idea of what he stands for except platitudes of ‘Change’ or they believe him when he says he will be a ‘Uniter’. The power of speech from a charismatic person truly can be a powerful thing. Certainly Billy Graham had charisma and his manner of speech, and particularly the content of that speech, changed the lives of untold millions. On the extreme other hand, the charisma of Adolph Hitler inspired millions as well, and the results were catastrophic.Barack Hussein Obama seems to radiate an aura of pure evil as he attempts to call upon the inspirational speaking styles of both Billy Graham and Adolf Hitler, and it makes me feel an almost primal fear every time I see this person, not a man to man fear but a deeper and much more spiritual fear, as if a pall of doom were being cast across America…

Here are just a few things that define Barack Hussein Obama:

– He voted against banning partial birth abortion.

– He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.

– Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government.

– In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing.

– Says he will deal with street level drug dealing as a minimum wage affair.

– Admitted marijuana and cocaine use in high school and in college.

– His religious convictions are very murky.

– He is willing to meet, unconditionally, with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

– Has said that one of his first goals after being elected would be to have a conference with all Muslim nations.

– Opposed the Patriot Act.

– First bill he signed that was passed was campaign finance reform.

– Voted No on prohibiting law suits against gun manufacturers.

– Supports universal health care.

– Voted Yes on providing habeas corpus for Guantanamo detainees.

– Supports granting driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.

– Supports extending welfare to illegal immigrants.

– Voted Yes on comprehensive immigration reform. Would result in 20 million instant citizens never having paid SS, many refusing to speak English, immediately sending for their 40 to 50 million extended relatives telling them not to wait and obey the laws, the once mighty USA is theirs for the taking.

– Voted Yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.

– Wants to make the minimum wage a ‘living wage’.

– Voted with Democratic Party 96 percent of 251 votes.

– Opposed to any efforts to Privatize Social Security and instead supports increasing the amount of tax paid.

– He voted No on repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax.

– He voted No on repealing the ‘Death’ Tax.

– He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax.

– Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not succeeded.

– Has never served in the military and has never visited Afghanistan, and hasn’t bothered to visit Iraq since Jan. of 2006.

– He is ranked as the most liberal Senator in the Senate today and that takes some doing.

– Is a notorious gun grabber, he wants to completely disarm the American population and is a total supporter of ALL anti-gun legislation.

If your political choices are consistent with Barack Obama’s and you think that his positions will bring America together or make it a better place, then you will probably enjoy the ride and not re-post this message as we attempt to stop this poser from ascending to the Oval Office.

I would like to know what the parishioners of Al Gore’s Church of Climate Change (formerly known as Church of Global Warming, but that was before even the libiot supporters of this religion started to realize that wee seem to be entering a cooling cycle) are going to do to fix this problem. Will donations to be directed such that The Goreacle can commission the construction of a green space shuttle (hybrid, of course) that would enable the round one, himself to fly to Jupiter and seek out the culprits? I’m guessing the shuttle would have a catchy name like “Inconvenient 1″ or “Mean Green Flyin’ Machine.”

Is there human life on Jupiter? I guess there must be, since human activity causes climate change. I wonder what the global citizens of Jupiter call SUV’s? Perhaps it is too far fetched to think that there are people living on Jupiter and causing catastrophic, spot-altering, climate change.  Perhaps the citizens of The United States of America, in our greed and selfish desire to live, are causing climate change on Jupiter with our nasty habits of driving and exhaling! Yes, that must be it! Barry Obama and John McCain must ensure that their respective (but certainly not respectable) campaign platforms deal with this crisis! Will Sheryl Crow endorse whichever candidate has the most environmentally socialist plan to stop our emissions from affecting our galactic neighborhood? She could write a campaign song, “Just One Square For Jupiter.”

I can almost hear the speeches now. John McCain will tell us that Theodore Roosevelt new the value of preserving the climate of Jupiter and it would be grossly irresponsible to not strangle American manufacturing in order to deal with Jupiter’s possible crisis. “Big Brother” Barry will say we can’t eat what we want and drive our SUVs and make personal decisions for ourselves and expect the rest of the solar system to just say OK.

I do at least hope Al Gore attempts to travel to Jupiter and assess the situation. I also think the entire nation might benefit as many of the global warming libiots as possible join him.

I was perusing the headlines of the on-line version of my former hometown newspaper, The Telegraph, and I noticed the following eye-catching title. “Former legislator getting golden parachute.” Before clicking the link, I thought Chicago Democrat. It came as no shock to read that the swindler in question is former state senator Carol Ronen, Democrat from Chicago (7th District.) From The Telegraph:

CHICAGO (AP) — A Chicago newspaper reports that former State Senator Carol Ronen worked only eight weeks in Governor Rod Blagojevich’s office earlier this years but is being rewarded for her brief service with a golden parachute.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the job in the governor’s office means that the 63-year-old Ronen will receive nearly $38,000 in increased pension pay a year for the rest of her life.

Ronen’s stint as a Blagojevich senior adviser is enabling the governor’s one-time Senate floor leader to get a $102,000-a-year state pension. Ronen will thus earn 35 percent more in retirement than she did as a $75,301-a-year legislator.

Had Blagojevich not hired Ronen and had she retired from the Senate at this time, her pension would be $64,005 annually.

Illinois Democrat Politicians = Political Pool Sharks

I was browsing the official web-site of The State of Illinois (or Venezuala Junior, representing Daley’s and Blagojevich’s ideal Utopia) and I came across a site dedicated to contraceptives. The main page has a heart-warming letter from our illustrious governor regarding his emergency actions to make birth control more fair and to force insurance companies to pay for the choices of their clients. The letter from our CIC (Communist In Chief):

It seems obvious to say that women should have the same access to affordable health care as men. But right now women pay an average of 68% more in out of pocket health care costs than men do because of the cost associated with reproductive healthcare. And recently, some pharmacists have been refusing to fill birth control prescriptions, making contraceptives even less accessible to women who need them. I am making sure that women, like men, have immediate access to more affordable health care.

Last year, we enacted legislation that requires all private insurance companies in Illinois to cover FDA-approved birth control devices and services. If insurance companies can cover Viagra for men, it’s only fair that they be required to cover birth control for women. Find out how we made contraceptives more affordable through your existing insurance.

Saving money on the cost of birth control is important, but only if you can get the prescription filled in the first place. One of the links in the letter lead to a page which links to a pdf of the legislation. I wonder how hard it was for the wasters of Illinois taxpayer funds to restrain themselves from including abortion in the list of things a health insurance provider must cover. I suppose they are taking government usurpation one step at a time. On this pag, we learn more about the fight for fairness Daley’s boy undertook:

If insurance companies can cover Viagra for men, it’s only fair that they be required to cover birth control for women. That’s why Governor Blagojevich enacted legislation last year that requires all private insurance companies in Illinois to cover FDA-approved birth control devices and services. This new law requires private insurance to cover birth control pills, patches, implants, shots, IUDs, and diaphragms.

At least he didn’t pull an Obama and say he wanted to raise taxes and cut revenue to the government in an effort to punish success and ensure fairness. All Rod “Hair Helmet” Blagojevich is doing is saying that women need extra special help in the bedroom and the government is here to provide it! In typical libiot fashion, this jerk and his accomplices in our state government ignore one tiny detail, common sense! Common sense dictates that Viagra is not used solely by men and the litany of contraceptive devices they list for women are not used solely by women. In fact, Viagra is not used for contraception. Weird.

So, this exercise in government oppression is disguised as a means of providing equitable healthcare for women and our libiot state leadership is banking on the gullibility of the Illinois electorate. Common sense intrudes upon Rod’s charade when an objective observer pauses to think of the logistics of contraception. How, exactly, can a woman become impregnated absent a man? (Artificial insemination does not count because the woman is attempting to get pregnant and a man was involved at some point in the donation process.) The answer to the Final Jeopardy question is: “What is she can’t, Alex?” Shhh! Don’t tell MoRod that the act of conception involves both sexes and therefore his pandering to feminists on this issue is just that.

Here is a common sense suggestion for fairness in birth control costs: the loving couple decide for themselves how to purchase their (that is two people, man and woman) preferred device and who pays for it. That is unless that the adult citizens of Illinois believe that they cannot function without the direct interference of Daley’s puppet.

On Saturday, May 17, 2008, tens of thousands of Oregon bark humpers and bath avoiders gathered to worship at the feet of “Big Brother” Barry Obama. The drooling libiots were enthralled by visions of “hope,” “change,” and a rare sampling of Obama’s intentions. Barry hinted of rationing and invasive monitoring of citizens in the name of leading in the battle against fictitious catastrophic anthropogenic global warming.

To quote Tammi at Sunflower Desert, “this would be funny if this guy didn’t stand a chance to be the next leader of the free world.”

Regarding leadership on the farce that is global warming:

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

As Jeremiah Wright would say “Naw! Naw! Naw!” Barry Obama would not be the leader of the free world! His policies would create an Orwellian “1984″ setting that could never be confused for freedom. My only question is, will Ronald Reagan’s likeness be displayed for the daily two minutes hate?

Lets ignore the fact that it is really not of the “other countries” what kind of vehicles Americans drive, what Americans choose to eat, and what the setting on the average American’s thermostat is. Let us focus on the implication of the words spoken by the dope of hope. Will the type and quantities of vehicles the electorate can own be controlled in an Obamanation? How will Czar Obama monitor the temperature of my home? What punishment will befall my family if I allow the temperature, inside my house, mind you, to dip to 70 degrees some hot Summer day?

I wonder how many of the left coast libiots in attendance for the sermon on the platform, stopped to visualize the lines for rations of food. We are not going to be able to “eat as much as we want” after all. I would guess that a thoughtful libiot (contradiction in terms) would cringe at the thought of his or her child being hungry and waiting for his ration, then I remember that these people prefer abortion, so the image probably doesn’t move them.

“Big Brother” Barry issued a premature dictatorial decree this morning on Good Morning America:

“But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable,” he said.

Obama praised his wife’s patriotism and said that for Republicans “to try to distort or to play snippets of her remarks in ways that are unflattering to her I think is just low class … and especially for people who purport to be promoters of family values, who claim that they are protectors of the values and ideals and the decency of the American people to start attacking my wife in a political campaign I think is detestable.”

Of course Barry can’t be bothered by common sense at a time like this, he has a country to seize. Common sense would dictate that Michelle Obama’s big mouth would not provide worthy sound bites if she were to shut it. “Naw! Naw! Naw!” we must protect Mrs. Obama’s reputation by refusing to repeat her own statements.

The terror of a prospective Obamanation is almost enough to make a reasonable conservative vote for John McCain.
